This track was originally created in 2005. It was chosen by a former CHINE Music artist O-No. The track was titled Patty Cake and featured Young KD(currently incarcerated unjustly by the state). Well, nothing heavy landed as a result of the song so I put on the back burner. In 2007, once I returned to Chicago, I decided to write lyrics to the track which was one of the first tracks I created once I returned home, and the first full song I created in years. In The Morning represents a new dawn, new beginning et cetera. After my experience in Atlanta in 2006, I felt a need to re-structure my life and start over. I learned in ATL, about who to/not to trust and when to heed to advice. So maybe in the morning is my metaphor for ‘I learned’

The mix is a lil junky, however the song is dope. Hope your eyes are open or you’ll miss it!

This photo was taken in 2003 by photographer Parrish Lewis at a time when I was extremely interested in being an artist. Granted I was still wet behind the ears but I knew in my heart that I could pull it off. The vision I had for myself was not seen by those around me. “Who are you trying to be André 3000″ – “That’s not a good look for you” – and so on. Comments like these did not alter my vision, though it did affect my views on what people were ready to accept from an unknown star from Chicago. It took me at least a decade to realize who I am and what I have within me. Talent, Gifts, Vision, Warmth, Determination, and Strength. There are definitely more, I just didn’t wanna over indulge you with my ego. Gotta give a special shout to the Legendary Traxster for seeing the vision and giving me the thumbs up when I revealed this shoot to him.

This picture is for the dreamer, the believer, the doubter and the non-seeer we make it all possible.

Got a lot more music in me and I’m not letting up even after I get that Bag which will take me and my close & extended family to the next phase.
